VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: "Stop the Wars and Occupations:
Bring All the Troops Home Now"

We still need volunteers for the Saturday, September 29 Rally and March "Stop the Wars and Occupations" (event starting at 11 AM). Please write or call if you can do any of these tasks.

Please note in particular we need volunteers to be Peacekeepers / Stage Security!

Please write or call if you can do any of these tasks, and be a part of our effort to bring the message that ending the surge is not enough, we must bring all the troops home now!

........ BETWEEN NOW AND SEPTEMBER 29 (Day of info, below)

PEACEKEEPERS/STAGE SECURITY: (minimum of 50 total needed)
--There will be a training for those who have not done this before on Monday, September 24 at 7 PM at the Portland Mennonite Church SE 35th and Main Just basic nonviolence, de-escalation stuff, but you must attend
a training if you have not before.
There will be another training the day of the event at 9:30 AM on the 29th.
You may also want to come to brush up even if you have done it before.

ENDORSE/COSPONSOR:

--If your organization isn't already on board with the Sept 29 event and would like to be listed as an endorser, let us know. Cosponsors are expected to donate $50 or more. Cosponsors and endorsers may request table space (but you must bring your own) for the "peace fair" at the World Trade Center at the end of the event; endorser table fee is $10-25 sliding scale.

..........DAY OF EVENT (SEPT. 29):

SET-UP/CLEAN-UP

....SET-UP march assembly site (9:30 AM at NW Flanders/Park): Need two people or more to help be sure
traffic and pedestrians and arriving folks know where to go.

....CLEAN-UP (2:30 PM-4:00 PM?)--Stay at the end until the Plaza is clean (Overall length of time is probably one hour, exact end of event is unknown)

..PEACEKEEPERS/STAGE SECURITY (9:30 AM to 3 PM):

Some folks should stay on security during the rally)

..FUND-RAISERS:
help pass the buckets to make more big rallies possible!
(minimum 25 needed; on-site training required, time/location TBA)
